Way back in 1972 a small group of young Gowd Saraswat Bhramins staying in Gokul Building A wing started Saraswati Poojan in Navratri. It started as 2 days function. Initially it was a small idol of Maa Saraswati, which was worshipped with Poojas & Bhajans.

Within couple of years more like-minded people joined in and the celebration became grand, the function was moved to Gokul Building inside ground.
The simple two days function became a 10 Days Celebration with various additional activities like Sports for Children & Adults, Dance & singing Competition, Fancy Dress Competition, Dramas, Drawing Competition & Memory tests to name a few activities.

As year passed the programs become bigger & better. This truly became a platform to perform & nurture the skills of young minds. This Celebration was the most awaited event of everybody’s life. This not only brought together the samaj bandhavas but also bonded them for life.

Today we have completed the 50th year of Gokulites Navaratri celebration.

May Maa Saraswati give us the strength & wisdom to make it a grand success year after year.
